Today, we remember the good men and women who sacrificed themselves that we may enjoy the promise of our Founding Fathers. They gave their all so that we might live in a nation devoted to the promise of “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” While we pause to remember these brave souls, let us also remember this:
Freedom is not free - it takes much tending and nurture. As we move forward into this brave new world we seem determined to create, let us not forget the sacrifice of our protectors by taking care to ensure that sacrifice was not made in vain.
