Ric and I finished watching the “Longmire” on Netflix. We enjoyed the show despite the glaring holes. Basically, it’s about a sheriff in a mostly rural Wyoming county near a couple of Native American reservations.
Well, into one of the seasons, our protagonist speaks with a bad guy confined to jail. The bad guy says something like: “You and I belong to a different era, back when words like ‘freedom’ and ‘liberty’ meant something; before they became platitudes for our politicians.”
I liked that line . . . and the observation.
