And this is why I drink . . .
RIC: Tomorrow is our anniversary.
ME: I know. Thirteen years of wedded bliss.
RIC: But since it’s a work day, we should celebrate tonight.
ME: What do you have in mind.
RIC: Something special.
ME: Such as?
RIC: A nice dinner, a bottle of good wine or champagne.
ME: Sounds great. Where would you like to go?
RIC: I thought we would stay in and have a home-cooked meal then maybe snuggle in front of the fire.
ME: Sounds romantic, but who wants to cook?
RIC: You love cooking for me. Consider it my anniversary gift to you that I will allow it.
ME: How very thoughtful of you. Anything special for dinner come to mind?
RIC: Oh, I don’t know. It should be very special given the day, after all.
ME: Well, of course.
RIC: Maybe Italian.
ME: Before you say it . . . How is that “special”?
RIC: Your spaghetti is always special to me.
ME: Open the wine.
